A fantastic surgery, I have previously been at other Doctor surgeries within Broadstairs, and this is by far the best service received.

The concept of the walk in clinic available in this surgery is excellent to have for patients. It is easy to utilise and useful to undertake for a quick health concern. The appointment booking online system is excellent for all other health issues. I also feel the GP I see has been fair to a point in hearing my wellbeing concerns and various distressess, however one concern has caused me mental distress regarding an online questioning survey undertaken within the surgery, in what I can only assume is in regards to a possible "Back to work" programme that I felt was not fully explained at the start of the questioning. I was not given the knowledge of where the data was going to & felt it underhanded. I did not sign any paperwork to give my permissions for having this questioning and since unable to read the statements whilst being typed & recorded by the GP, I was unable to clarify them also with a signature. As my age details were not checked prior or whether I did actually have a job, it appeared the GP was embarressed when seeing I was now retired and therfor may not have me required to be questioned. I certainly was not informed this was to take place prior to my visit that was purely for blood test results etc. I also consider the questions were not in relation to my medical issues that appeared dissmissive by the GP of its actual day to day severety to my medical symptoms. The questions of whether I "go to the Gym" or do "gardening" etc bears no relation as I could never undertake these actions without problems nor indeed were other of my medical matters taken into account as only refering to my Kidney ailment. I was rather surprised at these events on that day and sadly lost my confidence with this GP that I have not made further appointments with. To this day I wish to know where the data was going. When I actually telephoned the following day the receptionist stated there was no record of this interview and although i did make an appointment to see the particular GP about it, I lost my nerve & cancelled the appointment. I have raised it with another GP but not totally satisfied as being most upset at the time. I am still left in the dark on this issue really, but pleased to raise it today in this survey.

Since I joined the practice 11 years ago I have found the doctors and staff excellent in helping me look after my health. Dr. D Marshall has always got time to listen and able to explain the treatment options and medicines available. The updates to the appointment and repeat prescription ordering system save me time. The addition of the two partners,the drop in clinics and extended hours make life easier.
